Activating Gospel Animality in the Filmic Imagination

Tonight (1 Dec 2020) I delivered my second and final paper for the virtual SBL in the Bible & Film group. The session was filmed, so those signed up for the conference can watch at their leisure. Otherwise, I leave the following draft for comments, questions, suggestions, or ideas. It mostly matches the version delivered except for some light editing here and there.

Before reading, I recommend watching at least the first five minutes – if not more – of Mark Dornford-May’s film, The Son of Man, which can currently be accessed here.
