Celibate Baby Obsession

Elizabeth Clark has this gem in his discussion of the Pelagian Controversy as it emerged from the social networks established in the Origienist Controversy:

I doubt that at any time before or after the first three decades of the fifth century were a group of celibate men so concerned with babies.

Indeed – simply read Augustine or the remaining fragments of Julian of Eclanum.  They are obsessed!
